Read-a-Book Foundation

After meeting with Read-a-Book Foundation’s leader, Nana Kwame Afona I, there was a need to provide books for the children in the community to have a quasi-library where they could have a selection of books to choose from, read and return.

HBC’s CEO purchased 100 children’s books in August 2020 and will present them in October 2020 once they have been delivered. More than 90% of the books include African Americans or non-racial characters, including members of the animal kingdom. In addition, 50+ book bags and more than 100 small tubes of toothpaste were also donated.

these children (i.e. book benefactors) were leaving school during hbc’s visit in february 2019.
